90% of Afghans registered to vote and here is someone who will keep them safe

USATODAY.com - 90% of Afghans registered to vote

My husband's cousin called us from Germany last night. He's leaving very soon for Afghanistan to protect these newly registered voters. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet and now he'll be in a desert far from home hoping to steer clear of sniper fire.

He was told by his commander that the local warlord types will wait for the first 10 or so voters to get off of the bus at the polls and shoot them dead to prevent the rest of the passengers from voting. His job is to prevent this from happening. My son thinks he is one of the coolest guys in the world. He is an only child and his mom's whole world. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Your son is pretty smart! It certainly does take some kind of special person to be willing to do such a thing. He will be in our thoughts and prayers.
