I am finding that I'm having trouble concentrating today. My mind keeps drifting...
thoughts of our cousin and her family keep swirling around, leaving me feeling a bit detached.
They've put her, C., into a drug-induced coma. She has many, many broken bones and is being carefully monitored due to hematomas that have appeared in her skull. She did squeeze her mother's hand today, somehow, which gives us hope. I was told they are just worried about keeping her alive - all prognosis for the future is a glimmer on the horizon.
And so we wait for news as they are a few states away.
And our lives, as lives do, they go on.
A rainy day, a big hockey game, celebratory ice cream and a sleepover. A marathon Polly pocket session and some knitting. Today is more of the same, hopefully minus the rain and definitely minus the sleepover. Throw in some afternoon football, kale soup for dinner and some reading time with the kids.
I am counting my blessings.

oh jenny i'm so sorry. i'm thinking about and praying for your family.
So sad. We forget too easily how fragile we are. And how we stop to appreciate our blessings far less frequently than we ought to.
Well, you never can tell - she's young and I'd guess healthy...look at Caleb Potter, who went home yesterday after being given a 7% chance of survival.
I have chills just thinking about what your cousin's parents are going through. Please keep us posted.
I am thinking of you and the family. Keep us posted.
Will keep your family in my prayers.
Hugs
