Jon & Kate + 8? Love it or hate it?

A few months ago, I turned it on...and quickly turned it off. I have trouble watching people show off their worst side. And Kate's worst side? Yowza. I was fairly certain Jon's backbone was no longer in place.

I've seen a few episodes since then, some more painful to watch than others. And really, with cameras on you all the time - how could they NOT catch a sarcastic remark or a frustrated moment? Who am I to judge? I mean between honest to god frustration and editing I can't imagine how a t.v. show about my own life would play out.

Still though I saw some links the other day, that there was some behind the scenes controversy going on and blah, blah, blah. I check out the link and find that there will probably not be any happy, extended family cookouts in their near future.

So apparently, I have trouble watching someone make an ass of themselves on t.v. but if they choose to air their dirty laundry on the internet? I have no trouble at all reading about it.

The blog is written by the sister of Jon & Kate's sister-in-law and oftentimes babysitter, Jodi. Obviously, you can't believe everything you read or, apparently, see but again - Yowza.

I am fascinated with that show.
I *think* I love it, but I might hate it.

Off to read the dirt!

i love it, but i do think kate is *really* mean to jon. i know that having 8 kids would make you frazzled, but sometimes there's just no excuse for things she says!

See, I love the show, and I don't think she's mean to him. I actually like the fact that they seem to love their children so incredibly much and to make their marriage work when frankly, they have zero time for each other. I think she is controlling, but I think it works. For all of them. And I think he needs a push. but I think they both know they are deeply loved by the other.

Maybe I'm wrong.

That show amuses me. Probably because on a small scale, I get what that many kids is like -- did daycare for years. After reading that blog, I have to think the *real* truth is somewhere in between what we see on the show & what the author shares. For someone who is only didtant family, she sure is catty. Either way, I expect my tv to not be entirely real life. I live in real life. I watch tv to escape it for a while. =P

Oh & what I mean by small scale is I had 8 kids all the same age but only for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. At least I got to go home. Alone. LOL

We can't stop watching. We TiVo episodes and usually watch one or two before going to bed or one or two when we wake up on the weekends.

Kate definitely has OCD issues and she would drive me FREAKING crazy if I knew her in real life. I don't think she's a b*tch, but I do think she needs to relax a bit. However, I think that her parenting skills are amazing and the only way to control those kids is the way she does or they would control her.

I love Jodi and I was sorry to read all that stuff on her sisters blog that seems to just be written to stir stuff up. You're right though. Who knows what to believe.

And totally, poor Jon.
